The Festival, a Canterbury-based charity, holds events throughout the year culminating in the parade to celebrate St Nicholas’ Feast Day on the first Saturday of December.

Led by St Nicholas in his splendid festive red robes, it will process from the Westgate Towers at 12.15, arriving at the cathedral’s Christ Church Gate at 1pm.

There will then be a short service in the cathedral at 1.15pm, including carol singing.

Since being registered as a charity in 2005, the Festival has raised more than £55,000 for good causes.

This year it will benefit Kentish Retts Angels, which supports the families of people with Rett Syndrome, and Westbere Sailing Opportunities, which helps disabled people get out on the water.
