Faversham Festival of Transport car show to return for two-day event this May

One of the county’s biggest car shows will be pulling up to a town centre once again this month.

The Faversham Festival of Transport is an annual celebration of cars, buses and motorcycles, all set within the historic market town.

The event will give petrolheads a chance to throw themselves into their favourite hobbies, meet fellow car enthusiasts and view countless vintage vehicles.

The free two-day festival kicks off on Saturday, May 20 with an electric vehicle event.

This display made its debut at the car show last year and will return with more electric vehicles, demonstrations of the latest technology and information about sustainable driving.

There will also be free vintage bus rides around Faversham, including its landmarks such as the Shepherd Neame brewery and medieval Abbey Street, a market showcasing the best of local produce and an artisan craft fair held at the town’s Alexander Centre.

The first day also boasts a display of commercial vehicles such as lorries, vans, tractors and trucks, many of which will be from familiar brands and businesses.

While Saturday sounds busy enough, the main car show doesn’t roll into town until Sunday, May 21.

The weekend’s ‘main event’ will showcase a wide range of vintage, sports and rare vehicles spread out across the town.

There will also be a GoKart circuit and a collection of steam vehicles for visitors to admire, as well as family activities, food and drink stalls and live music.

The festival is free to attend.

There will also be a free park and ride service running from Macknade in Faversham into the town centre during the weekend.
