A baby and a woman have been caught up in a crash.

Two fire engines from Kent were sent and one from East Sussex.

The road was closed by police while the emergency services dealt with the smash.

The woman and a baby were out of one of the vehicles when crews arrived, according to a fire service spokesman.

Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the roof of both vehicles to release two men, who were driving.

All four casualties were taken to hospital.

Crews had left by 9.20pm and the extent of their injuries is not known.

An ambulance spokesman could only confirm four patients were assessed and treated before being taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital.
