Police seize £50,000 from Tunbridge Wells flat in drugs bust

Police have seized £50,000 from a flat in Tunbridge Wells as part of a drugs bust.

The money was found with designer clothes and shoes worth thousands of pounds at the property in the Knights Wood area.

Two people were arrested yesterday following the seizure which was part of an investigation linked to money laundering offences.

At around 4.55pm, plain clothes officers from the Tunbridge Wells Community Policing Team approached a suspicious vehicles parked in the Knights Wood area.

The 20-year-old driver was detained and searched which led to the seizure of some cannabis and two mobile phones.

A nearby address linked to the man was then entered by officers, where multiple bags of cash were discovered.

They were confiscated along with several pairs of designer trainers and coats.

A woman, 22, was also later arrested and both suspects were taken into custody in connection with the supply of drugs and money laundering.
