Flood alert issued at Hadlow for River Bourne

Expected heavy rainfall tonight has resulted in a flood alert being sent out.

The Environment Agency has issued an alert for the River Bourne from Hadlow, in Tonbridge, to East Peckham.

It comes after a recent alert from Bethersden to Staplehurst for the River Beult.

Heavy rainfall tonight could result in flooding at around 5am tomorrow morning.

The agency thinks there is a possibility for flooding on low lying land and road along the River Bourne, including Golden Green and Little Mill.

They are "closely monitoring the situation" with response staff out on the ground checking and clearing any blockages and debris from rivers.

It is advised that people don't use low lying footpaths near local watercourses.

An update is expected tomorrow morning.
