Men in car tried to abduct girl

KENT Police are searching for two men who attempted to abduct a teenage girl by pulling her into their car.

The 16-year-old girl struggled with one of the men before a male jogger came to her aid and challenged him. The car then sped off.

The girl was walking along Shipbourne Road, Tonbridge, late on Sunday night when the incident occurred. She was not hurt.

Police say both men are white and in their early 20s. They have local accents and smelled strongly of alcohol.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Police would like to speak to this male jogger urgently as he is a key witness. We are aware that there were a considerable number of people in the area at the time and I would urge people to come forward."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det Con Ian Seath on 01732 379160 or Kent Crimestoppers free and anonymously on 0800 555 111.
