A nail salon and tanning business is looking to expand.

Hanh Nguyen has applied for permission to expand her American Nails Salon business at 36 High Street, Tonbridge, into the vacant property next door.

Number 38 High Street was formerly occupied by Wood and Pilcher Estate Agents but is currently empty.

The proposal before Tonbridge and Malling council would see the entry door to number 38 removed and replaced with glazing, though a new fire door would be added just around the corner in Lamberts Yard.

There would be minor alterations to some internal walls. The changes only affect the ground floor – there are flats above.

The owners say staffing levels could double from five to 10.
