PETER WILLCOX: arrested on suspicion of abduction

A 15-year-old Kent girl who was found in Athens three weeks after she went missing from home has been reunited with her mother.

The teenager, from the Thanet area, was flown home by Kent Police officers.

Her mother said both she and her daughter cried when she returned to her home on Wednesday after arriving back in the county on Monday.

The girl had been taken to what police described as a "safe place" while she was interviewed by officers.

A 48-year-old man, Peter Willcox, is in custody in Athens after being arrested on suspicion of abduction and Kent Police are considering whether to seek his extradition.

Detectives said they thought the girl was with Mr Willcox who had been living in Spain.
