Elderly cyclist, 93, dies after being hit by car on A28 Canterbury Road near Thanet

A 93-year-old cyclist has died after being hit by a car.

Police want to speak to witnesses after the elderly man died from his injuries following the crash on Monday.

The cyclist was riding a bicycle from Orchard Lane and turned into the A28 Canterbury Road in St-Nicholas-at-Wade, Thanet, at around 9.30am.

A green Vauxhall Corsa had been travelling along the A28 towards Margate at the time when the collision took place.

The victim was taken to hospital but died from his injuries on Tuesday.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit would like to speak to anyone who saw the collision or has dashcam footage which might assist their enquiries.
