TRIBUTES have been paid to a woman pedestrian who died after being struck by a lorry as she crossed the road.
Miss Daphne Boon, 77, of Shrubcote, Tenterden, died after the accident in the town's high street on Tuesday, March 13.
Her sister Muriel Holdstock, of Appledore, said: “We are an old Appledore family but Daphne went to live in Shrubcote with our mother after she had a stroke 26 years ago.
“They lived there for two years, with Daphne living on her own for 24 years.”
She added: “She walked up the town, pushing her trolley, twice a week. She loved her garden and her four cats. They they were her life.”
Ann Hathaway, a friend of Mrs Holdstock, had met Miss Boon. She said: “She was a lovely lady, very quiet and kept herself to herself. She did love her cats.”
