Traffic is heavy heading Maidstone-bound on the road towards Bobbing, with a further two miles of tailbacks Sheppey-bound.

There is also slow traffic and one lane closed due to accident between a van and two cars on the M2 coastbound from J2 A228 Sundridge Hill at Strood and Rochester, to J3 at Chatham and Rochester.

There are also severe delays back to Junction 4 of the M2 at Gillingham, going coast-bound.

Drivers are also entering a fourth day of not being able to use part of the M26.

The motorway is closed London-bound, between junction 2A for Wrotham and the M25 junction 5 at Sevenoaks, to allow South East Water engineers can carry out repairs to a burst water main.

The ongoing roadworks mean traffic is being diverted onto the M20 and M25, causing increased congestion nearby.
