The 99p Stores in Sittingbourne High Street is the latest victim of a spate of burglaries

The 99p Stores has become the latest victim of a spate of thefts in the area.

Entry was gained to the discount store in Sittingbourne High Street by smashing a glass door.

Various items, valued at £19.80 in total, were taken during the burglary which happened just before 3am on Sunday, February 9.

Over the last 15 months, the News Extra has been made aware of more than 510 burglaries and attempted break-ins in and around the town.

The latest incidents are as follows:

Various power tools stolen from a garage in Randle Way, Bapchild, between January 31 and February 1 - XY/004004/14.

Sometime between January 26 and February 2 an attempt was made to enter a domestic garage. This happened in Oad Street, Borden - XY/003974/14.

A red and black Toyota Aygo, GN63 FXM, was stolen after a burglary in Bassett Road, Sittingbourne. It happened overnight between February 2-3 - XY/003952/14:.

A property in Rettendon Drive, Milton Regis, was broken into sometime between January 15 and February 9 - XY/004841/14.

Power tools were stolen from inside a stable in Ruins Barn Road, Tunstall, between February 7-8 - XY/004685/14.

A burglary took place in Milbourne Grove, Milton Regis, between February 2-4 - XY/004195/14.

There was an attempted burglary in Springfield Road, Sittingbourne, between February 5-6 - XY/004371/14.

A property in Harris Gardens, Murston, was burgled between 5.30pm and midnight on Friday, February7 - XY/004680/14.

Between February 8-9 a garage was burgled in Salisbury Close, Murston. A van was damaged in the process - XY/004850/14.

A shed was burgled in Rectory Road, Sittingbourne, between February 9 -10 - XY/005052/14.

Damage was caused and various items stolen including CCTV equipment from a locked stable building in Bull Lane, Newington, between February 10-11 - XY/005064/14; XY/005065/14.
