A249 reopened between Stockbury Roundabout and Sittingbourne following crash

A car ended up on its roof following a crash which closed the A249 earlier this evening.

Two cars collided just after 4pm on the Sheerness-bound carriageway near the Key Street roundabout.

No one is believed to have been seriously injured.

Police closed the carriageway due to a large oil spill which was cleared by highways officers just after 7pm.

The accident caused long tailbacks between Stockbury Roundabout and Sittingbourne, and all the way down Detling Hill.
