The all-tide landing has been closed for repairs.

For safety reasons Queenborough Yacht Club (QYC), which maintains the landing, has taken the decision to shut it until further notice.

While it is closed, emergency services will still have access to it, but other visitors will have to use the existing causeway to come ashore.

Repairs needed include a loose hand-rail and loose boards on the walkway, but QYC committee member Yvonne Mitchell said there is nothing major wrong with the landing.

She added: “It’s not that it’s suddenly fallen in half but we need to make sure it conforms with the insurance requirements.

“We are not sure how long it will be closed for because it depends how long it takes to get it safe.

“We have every intention of reopening it but we can’t say when.”
