KIG meeting to go ahead despite weather

A public meeting organised for tonight to discuss the Kent International Gateway project will go ahead.

The venue for the meeting - Invicta Girls School - is closed today because of the snow.

The meeting has been organised by Kent County Council and a spokesman said the school would be opened up this evening for the KIG meeting.

On the platform will be the KCC leader Cllr Paul Carter (Con), Mid Kent MP Hugh Robertson, StopKIG chairman Richard Horton and others.

But one of the main parts of the meeting will be the opportunity for the public to ask questions or give their views.

People are invited to arrive at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
