Thousands of pounds was raised for Kent’s hospices at the annual KM Shepherd Neame sponsored walk.

Families from all over Kent set off from Charing racecourse on an 11-mile circular walk in aid of all 11 Kent hospices on Sunday.

The 2,700 walkers were accompanied by the stirring sounds of the bagpipes from Staff Sgt Kenny Kerr of the Military Provost Guard Service, based in Chatham.

Louise Hopkins, marketing co-ordinator with Shepherd Neame said: “This is our 13th walk and it is in aid of the Kent hospices. We change the route every year and people enjoy that.”
