Gold-winning Paralympic medalist Charlotte Evans is taking a taking a break from competing.
Evans, from Chatham, guided Kelly Gallagher to Great Britain’s first ever gold medal on snow at the Sochi Paralympics last year.
She is taking a season out to concentrate on coaching and there is no guarantee she will return to competitive action.
The 24-year-old missed out on competing in the this year’s World Championships after suffering concussion during a training accident in January.
Explaining her decision, She said “Working on youth ski camps and being able to inspire youngsters has reminded me how much I also enjoy coaching and making a difference to these children’s outlook.
"I will be focusing on this for the coming year.”
GB Performance Director Duncan Freshwater said: “I have no doubt she will be a great success at what she does next.
"I hope that after a bit of time out of the limelight Charlotte might be willing to reengage with the team in the future as her knowledge will be greatly missed.”
