David Mathews scored twice to help Holcombe Hockey Club to a 6-1 win over bottom-side Ipswich in the Conference East on Sunday.
Also on target for the home side were Andrew West, Liam Foster, Yasser Khan and Danny Laslett.
The victory, Holcombe's sixth from 17 games in the league, pushed the Medway club to within a point of sixth-placed Bromley & Beckenham.
