Plans to open a German Doner Kebab restaurant at a shopping centre have been submitted.

The kebab chain would replace the former Santander bank in Hempstead Valley, Gillingham, which shut in June 2021.

Proposals have been submitted to Medway Council for new signage and logo displays to be put up at the site.

German Doner Kebab, who claim to sell "game-changing" gourmet kebabs, as well as menu items including their OG kebab, doner wrap, veggie kebab and Doritos doner krunch burger, have more than 100 stores in the UK alone.

The fast food chain, which offers dine-in and takeaway, has branches in Bromley, Bexley, Canterbury, Dover, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells.

An opening date is not yet known.
