The gold medallist shared the tips and tricks to a successful swimming career to children aged eight to 17.

This was the third time Adam has visited Medway and lucky swimmers were able to learn the art of breaststroke from the very best.

The Olympic champion expressed how great it felt to be back and share a bit of his story with the youngsters.

He said: "It’s great to be back here. It’s great to see the kids so passionate about sport and we will help the kids as much as we can to be the next Olympians.

"Swimming is a life skill and it’s a skill that’s decreasing year-on-year at the moment and we need to make a lot more effort to make swimming fun and accessible.

"My top tip to swimmers is energy and attention to detail. These are not just swimming skills, they’re life skills.

"We’re trying to get them into the world with as much passion as possible."

Peaty won his first gold medal in the 100 metre breaststroke at the 2016 Summer Olympics, the first by a male British swimmer in 24 years, and retained the title at the 2020 Summer Olympics in 2021.

He is also an eight-time World Champion, a 16-time European Champion and a four-time Commonwealth Champion.

Deputy leader of Medway Council, Cllr Howard Doe, welcomed the chance for children to meet such an inspiring sportsman.

He said: “We were delighted to welcome Adam and his team back to Medway as part of their national race clinic tour. Medway has excellent sporting facilities and has produced some great sporting stars.

"We know Adam is hero to many young swimmers and I am pleased children and young people had the opportunity to learn from him, and his team, at one of our sports centres.

“As well as being fun and a great way to spend time with your family, swimming is an important life skill. If you think your child could be an Olympic champion in the making, or simply want them to gain confidence in the water, book swimming lessons at one of our sports centres.”
