MEDWAY council has been forced to go back to the drawing board after its £1 million development plan for the next 20 years were rejected by a government planning inspector.

Inspector Ces Cunningham said the authority's vision for housing and jobs were unsound.

The council's director of regeneration, Robin Cooper has now applied to have its blueprint withdrawn.

"This was all about seeking to deliver quality jobs and homes to regenerate the Medway Towns," he said.
