Fire crews were called to a car which had caught alight last night.
The incident in Harvesters Close, Rainham, had begun to spread to a nearby garage when firefighters got on the scene at 11pm.
Two fire engines were called and crews used a hose reel jet to put out the flames.
There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is unknown.
