Nearly 250 children from schools across Medway took part in the Mini Youth Games table tennis tournament.

The next three schools had to be split on game difference as they all had seven wins and one draw.

St Mary’s Island School came second, followed by St Margaret’s Junior in Rainham and Gillingham’s Featherby Juniors.

The highest-placed small school was Pilgrim, in Borstal.

The top teams from the event at Medway Park have qualified for the Night of Champions this summer as part of the Medway Festival of Sport.

Also qualifying are Miers Court, Rainham; Hempstead; and St Thomas of Canterbury, Gillingham.

The fair play award went to Cliffe Woods Primary.

The next Mini Youth Games event is the netball at Rainham School for Girls on Tuesday, March 24.
