Alison High's 600 mile quest to find cat Moloko who went missing from Rainham

A pet owner is going to great lengths to track down her beloved missing cat.

Alison High has walked 200 miles and driven 400 in a frantic bid to find her moggy Moloko.

The 48-year-old children’s nanny has spent £500 on printing about 6,000 posters which have been plastered around the Rainham and Twydall area where she lives, and has ordered another 15,000.

Miss High has offered a £500 reward for her safe return and has even launched a campaign in Hertfordshire where she used to live until the end of last year before she returned to Medway.

Miss High said: “ My life has been put on hold. What’s keeping me going is that I have not had any bad news and I have had several sightings.”

Miss High moved into her new home in Dorset Square, Rainham, with Moloko and her sister Mica in December.

She had been keeping the five-year-old cats indoors to get them used to their new environment, but Moloko slipped out of a tiny window which was slightly ajar on Friday, December 21.

Miss High said: “She has never run away before and must have had a scare. They have never been apart in five years and Mica can feel my anxiety.

“I am going out twice a day every day and won’t let the bad weather put me off. I will not stop until I have found her.

“I am not eating properly and have lost 16lbs. People have been very supportive. One lady who thinks she may have fed her has put a camera up in her garden.

“I have chased up every lead, searched woodland, hedges and empty buildings.

“I am never 10 miles away from a location where she may have been spotted.”

Moloko has white paws, legs and tummy and is ginger with tabby over-colour coat.

Miss High is urging people to check garages and garden sheds.

Moloko is microchipped and registered on www.petlog.org.uk
