But the Uefa Pro Licence coach said his goodbyes at the end of Friday’s training session after helping the team get ready for today’s National League game at Torquay.

“Thank you for these two weeks, I’ve really enjoyed it,” said Noel-Williams, addressing the squad.

“I feel like I’ve been here six months with you guys and I’ve been part of the journey.

“Unfortunately, I’m leaving you guys. I’ve got an opportunity in India to go and be manager so I’m going to go and take that.

“I’ve been on my coaching journey waiting for an opportunity like this.

“Even though I wanted to stay and help you guys out and be here with George, it’s a big opportunity I couldn’t say no to.

“I just want to say, good luck for the rest of the season, dig deep, and if any of you find yourselves out of a contract, and fancy a trip to India, give me a call.”
