Kent FA announce DFDS as community investment partners for Kent Green United initiative

The Kent FA have been given a helping hand in their mission to encourage grassroots clubs to look after the environment.

Their Kent Green United initiative has received backing from DFDS, who have signed up as community investment partners.

It strengthens links between the two parties, with DFDS already sponsoring the 13 adult county cup competitions.

Kent Green United is a collection of environmentally friendly clubs who carry out activities to make a difference in the community.

Examples include litter picks, arranging boot/kit swap shops, walking to training or matches to reduce carbon emissions, and using a refillable water bottle to reduce plastic waste.

Kent FA chief executive Darryl Haden said: “We have been blown away by the support of the DFDS last season.

“Their love and passion for the football communities in Kent have shone through, and it has been a privilege to welcome them into our Kent football family.

“For the 2023/24 season, we have several exciting activities planned for county cups, Kent Green United, and the Kent grassroots football community, so make sure you keep an eye on our website and social media pages. It’s going to be a fantastic season.”
