It comes after three incidents happened during a week at an alleyway close to the Maplesden Noakes School in Buckland Road and nearby Whatman Park.

In a letter to parents today, Maplesden Noakes headteacher, Jane Prideaux, has warned of the dangers posed to pupils.

An 11-year-old girl from Maidstone Girls Grammar School was allegedly caught up in the incident, prompting a police investigation.

The pupil described the man as in his late 20s or early 30s, approximately 5ft, 8ins with short brown hair and wearing grey tracksuit trousers, a grey hoodie and black sunglasses.

It's thought older pupils from both schools also witnessed the incident.

Mrs Prideaux said: "Please be assured that the police are doing everything they can to catch this young man but in the meantime I would advise that students do not walk to and from school by themselves.
