Brazen thieves stole a post box - together with its concrete post - from out of the ground.

The 1m tall red steel post box had been embedded into the grass with concrete.

But it was removed from its site along the southbound A227, near the A20 roundabout at Wrotham.

Police believe it was taken sometime between 10.15am on Saturday and 11am on Monday, when it was spotted missing by a postman on his deliveries.

The box, belonging to Royal Mail, is worth around £400, and had a slip of paper on the front identifying it as box number 222.

It's thought there wasn't much, if any, mail in the box at the time.

Anyone with information should police on 01732 529911 quoting crime report number YY/13090/13.
