Kent Police at scene of crash involving cyclist and van in Sutton Road near Buffkyn way

A cyclist has been taken to hospital with leg and arm injuries following a crash with a van.

Officers were called to Sutton Road, close to Buffkyn Way, in Maidstone today at around 6.40am.

Traffic in the area was brought to a standstill while emergency services attended the scene.

A spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 6.40am to a report of a road traffic collision in Sutton Road, Maidstone, at the junction with Buffkyn Way.

"The collision involved a Citroen panel van and a bicycle. Police are at the scene."

SECAmb confirmed they sent one ambulance and a man was taken to Maidstone Hospital for treatment.
