Accident near Leeds Castle

There has been a collision on Penfold Hill near Leeds Castle in Maidstone closing the road.

Penfold Hill, the B2165, is part of the link through Leeds between the A274 Sutton Road and the A20 and is always busy at this time of day. Consequently traffic is at a standstill and there are hold-ups on nearby roads as motorists seek an alternative route.

A white van and a black car have collided. There are no details yet on any injuries.

Although the accident happened at 8.45am, the road remains closed while highways teams deal with an oil spillage.
