Waterlogged pitches claim several casualties

A NUMBER of Ryman League games scheduled for tonight have been called off.

The Kent derby between Ashford Town and Division 1 South leaders Maidstone United at a waterlogged Homelands was postponed after a 12.30pm pitch inspection.

The game has now been rearranged for Tuesday, April 24.

Sittingbourne's game with Met Police at Bourne Park and Cray Wanderers' home match with Godalming have also been postponed but Chatham's trip to Hastings has passed a pitch inspection while Dartford and Dover's home games are both expected to go ahead.

In the Premier Division, only Ramsgate's trip to Worthing has survived the wet weather.

Margate's home game with Billericay, Tonbridge's trip to Ashford Town and Bromley's match at Harrow Borough have all been postponed.

Meanwhile, the Kent League Premier Division Cup quarter-final between Whitstable and Faversham at The Belmont passed an initial pitch inspection but further rain put the game in doubt before kick-off.
