MARGATE boss Robin Trott admits he is taking more interest than usual in the Thanet weather forecast today.

It proved another frustrating weekend for officials and players alike, with Saturday’s Ryman League Premier Division home game against Horsham called off following heavy rain the previous night.

Trott said: "The weather is making things a nightmare at the moment.

"The club are doing all they can, and bringing in extra manpower to help, but even the game against Billericay (tonight) Tuesday must be in doubt, because the pitch is not very good Trott called his players in for a two-hour training session at Dartford on Saturday morning, before watching a game in the afternoon.

He said: "We have worked so hard to get in this position, we don’t want to throw it away."

The lack of games also means that suspensions still hang over Paul Abbott, Steve McKimm and Justin Skinner, while midfielder Dean Standen starts his ban next week, after being sent off in the 2-1 home defeat by Tonbridge last week.
