Missed chances prove costly for Wings

Welling assistant manager Jimmy Dack believed his side had enough chances to remain in the FA Cup on Wednesday night.

The Wings, in particular striker Charlie Sheringham, wasted numerous openings over the two games against Whyteleafe and their failure in front of goal cost them dear.

Dack said: "If Charlie Sheringham had taken those chances then it would have been a different story but we can't blame one person.

"We all need to be scoring goals - Joe Healy needs to chip in, Ellis Green and the central midfield players should all be scoring goals for us.

"We need more from them in front of goal but we're lacking confidence at the moment and we need to raise ourselves.

"We had four great chances and didn't take them. They had one or two chances and took them."

Dack, who took charge of the team with boss Andy Ford on holiday, made three changes to the starting line-up.

He added: "We're trying to get the right combination. I thought our two wide players got on the ball more but our front two got beaten up a bit.

"Craig Braham-Barrett doesn't look the same player that he did five games ago. This ia a reality check for some of them, we know that they can do it but they've lost their confidence.

"It wasn't wrong in the first six games of the season so we know they are capable of getting it right."
