Young Gillingham striker Andy Pugh is set to be called back from his loan spell at Grays after this weekend.

Pugh, 20, has scored three goals for the Blue Square Premier side and although he was expected to stay at Grays for the remainder of the season, manager Mark Stimson was keen to see him return for the season run-in.

His chances at the Gills have been limited to just three substitute apperances this season but he could now get another chance to impress.

“He’s been out and scored a few goals and has got his sharpness up,” said Stimson.

“I know he is only a young lad but he’s scoring goals at a decent level and he’ll come back and take us up to 18 players (in the squad).

“Every report I’ve had has been good and encouraging so he’ll come back sharper and if he’s called upon I’m sure he’ll give it his best.”
