Invicta Dynamos completed an encouraging weekend in ENIHL South 1 with a 6-1 home win against league leaders Oxford City Stars on Sunday evening.

Head coach Kevin Parrish said: "We’ve had a superb weekend considering the amount of bodies missing. We showed a lot of heart and our D have come in tonight and been superb for us. That made a big difference."

Playing without injury victims Phil Manny, Ryan Giles and Martin Rider, the suspended Martin Melichercik and a holidaying Damien Welch, Invicta worked hard against a side icing a full compliment of players and took the lead at 22.27 when Karl Lennon fired past Jamie Skaife on a breakaway.

Grant Bailey beat Invicta’s impressive new goalie Joe White to equalise early in the final period, before Milan Kostolny, Grant Baxter, Anthony Lennon, Elliot Andrews and Jack Tarczycki, with his first for the club, ruthlessly finished off the visitors.

The result was all the more impressive considering Invicta played, and won, with a short bench on Saturday night as well. Their third win over Peterborough this season was secured by netminder White on his debut and through goals from Andrews, Kostolny and Baxter. The game ended 3-2.
