Would-be robbers target cash handling depot

DETECTIVES are hunting a group of men who attempted to rob a cash handling depot.

Police were called to the Loomis Cash Management premises in Mark Way, Swanley, on Thursday at about 9.15pm after the gang, wearing balaclavas, reversed a stolen skip lorry into a cash transfer bay.

Officers believe that one of the offenders was armed with a handgun. However no one was hurt and no cash was taken.

The offenders left the scene in a white transit van which was later found burnt out, along with the stolen skip lorry. Both vehicles have been recovered for forensic examination.
