by Alex Claridge

A woman was hit on the head and had beer poured on her after she caught a man about to urinate in her porch.

The 49-year-old spotted the man in the porch in Orange Street, Canterbury, between 4.15pm and 4.30pm on Saturday and shouted at him not to urinate.

He walked off and she got into her car near the junction of King Street and Orange Street when the man reappeared with six other men.

One opened the door and beer was poured on the woman before she was hit on the head with a bottle.

The woman drove away and then stopped to ask passers-by to call for an ambulance. The bump on her head was checked but she decided not to go to hospital.

PC Gemma Sherwin said: "The man was in his mid 20's, wearing white shorts and a t-shirt.

"He was with a group of about six men and they were drinking bottles of beer in the street.

"It was a busy afternoon and there would have been a lot of people around and we would urge any witnesses to come forward and help us trace who was responsible for this nasty assault."
