Wembley wizards meet England boss

Youngsters from Aylesford FC under-10s enjoyed the day out of a lifetime, playing in front of England boss Fabio Capello, and 1966 World Cup hero, Sir Geoff Hurst, at the new Wembley Stadium.

Coach Andy Tonkin penned a poem about the youngsters’ positive attitude and sent it to the Kent FA who awarded the team the dream trip as part of the McDonald’s National Football Festival, which aims to widen the standard and availability of qualified coaching for young players.

The Invicta Primary League side received coaching from former Manchester Utd youth team boss, Eric Harrison – who nurtured David Beckham’s talent – with Capello and Hurst watching, before a short match on the hallowed turf.

Mr Tonkin said: “ We will all treasure the day.”
