Video vox: Do we in Kent still like a pint down the pub?

Sorry, this video asset has been removed.

Thirty six pubs are closing each week, according to figures from the British Beer and Pub Association.

That's a third up from 27 closures a week during 2007.

Rob Hayward, chief executive of the BBPA, blames the closures on declining consumer confidence and soaring inflation.

Mr Hayward said: "Not only are the costs of running a pub increasing, but fewer people through the door means less cash in the tills."

KentOnline's Samantha Payne hit the pubs and streets of Rochester to find out if people there are still enjoying a pint down their local.
