FIRE chiefs are investigating the cause of a fire in which three horses died.

The animals were trapped in a burning barn at Kittington Farm at Elvington, near Deal. Another horse was badly hurt.

About 30 firefighters were called to the scene at about 7.50pm on Tuesday.

The blaze also affected a smaller building on the site. There were no other injuries.

One firefighter, Shane Giblin from Deal, said: “The fire was very big and frantic. You could see the flames from miles away.”
