Tonbridge came down to earth with a bump on their first home appearance in Blue Square Bet South in front of nearly 700 at Longmead on Tuesday night.

Looking to build on their 4-0 opening day win at Maidenhead on Saturday, Tommy Warrilow's men never recovered from conceding twice in the opening 12 minutes against Sutton, who conceded five at home against Woking at the weekend.

Sutton midfielder Fola Orilonishe grabbed a hat-trick with his best goal of the night, four minutes from time, coming after Tonbridge substitute Frannie Collin pulled one back 60 seconds earlier.

Harry Beautyman fired the Surrey side ahead early on, taking advantage of a defensive mix-up, and Orilonishe doubled the lead four minutes later, following another mistake.

He made it 3-0, 15 minutes from time, converting the rebound after Tonbridge goalkeeper Lee Worgan had blocked the first effort.

Collin, who replaced Chris Henry early in the second half, made it 3-1 with a neat finish, but it was Orilonshie’s night, completing his treble, with an excellent strike giving Worgan no chance.
