A MAN was treated for smoke inhalation as a fire destroyed a butchers shop in a Kent high street.

The blaze was tackled shortly after 12.15am on Saturday and damage is thought to be extensive.

Residents of the flats above evacuated the building in High Street, Green Street Green, near Orpington, when they were alerted by a smoke alarm.
