A Ramsgate chef is cook-a-hoop after breakfasts at his popular cafe were declared the best in Britain.

Kevin Davies and staff at the Ramsgate Cafe and Pie 'n’ Mash Shop were nominated by readers of the Sun as serving the tastiest fry-ups in the country.

Clutching knives and forks, an independent panel of top chefs agreed, and Kevin is now Lord of the Frys after scooping a mouth-watering £10,000.

Asked about the secret to the cafe's success, he said: "We always use the best products we can buy and source these from local farmers and suppliers whenever possible.

"We want our loyal customers to enjoy a good fry-up without them leaving the café covered in grease and smelling of eggs and bacon."

Kevin wasn’t the only one celebrating last week; one lucky customer who fills up at the Margate Road restaurant has won a brand new Citroën Berlingo to top up, too.
