Post office raid leaves staff in shock

POLICE are appealing for help from the public after an attempted armed robbery on Groombridge Post Office yesterday evening.

A sawn shotgun was used to hold up the post office near Tunbridge Wells and although no one was hurt, staff were said to be extremely shocked.

Police are puzzled because no getaway car was seen. They are appealing for anyone who was in the area around 5.30 pm to come forward.

The attempted robbery follows similar incidents at nearby Frant Post Office on Friday and Monday.
