Police officers threatened with knife

POLICE officers responding to reports of a disturbance in a Kent town were threatened by a man holding a knife when they arrived at the scene.

The incident took place in Cambridge Road, Rochester, just after 7.20pm last night.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm.

A Kent Police spokesman said he received minor injuries during the arrest and was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital as a precaution.
