Volkwagen damaged after crash into metal railing in Lower Bridge Street, Canterbury

A car was crumpled after crashing into a metal railing early this morning.

The accident happened shortly before 2am today (December 2) when a white VW crashed and was later photographed heavily damaged in Lower Bridge Street, Canterbury.

It had been there for hours with police saying they were originally called to the incident at 1.55am.

They attended along with ambulance crews and one person was treated for injuries believed not to be life-threatening.

A spokesman for police said: “Kent Police was called at 1.55am to a car that had collided with street furniture in Lower Bridge Street, Canterbury.

“Officers attended alongside the South East Coast Ambulance Service, where one person was treated for injuries.
