Trellises and planters have transformed a primary school’s playground – thanks to KM Group and Denne Construction.

St Eanswythe’s in Folkestone won our School Dream Project competition, sponsored by Denne.

The school got £7,500 which they have spent on the playground.
Business manager Sue Lamberton said: “We are completely landlocked so outside space is very important to us.

“We are hoping to buy an extra piece of land to extend the playground but until we do, have spent the competition money on planters, trellises, a gazebo and an outdoor learning area which we have already used.

“We also covered an area with fake grass. Where we had an ugly brick wall we have plants growing up.
“This is all of great benefit to the children.”

St Eanswythe’s, which has 213 pupils, beat 18 other finalists from across Kent in the contest.

To win, the school collected vouchers which were printed in the Kentish Express and other KM Group titles across the county.
Representatives from Denne called at the school last week to see the work for themselves.
