Air ambulance called after moped collides with car in Cliftonville

A biker has been seriously injured this evening following a crash with car.

The collision happened on Northdown Road in Cliftonville at about 5.45pm. The biker, who is thought to have been riding a moped, suffered serious head injuries.

The air ambulance is thought to have landed near the seafront and the rider was taken to Kings College Hospital in London.

The road was closed between Trinity Square and Hawley Square but reopened at 7pm.
