Man hurt as robbers strike at computer warehouse

A GANG of robbers attacked and tied up two men working at a computer hardware warehouse. One of the victims suffered a head injury.

He was taken to hospital following the raid by three or four men at the Change Organisation Unit on the John Wilson Business Park in Whitstable.

The drama began to unfold at around 5.30am on Tuesday. The other worker at the warehouse, a 32-year-old man, managed to call police at about 7am.

His injured colleague was expected to be discharged from the QEQM Hospital at Margate after treatment.

Police are still trying to establish what has been stolen from the warehouse and are viewing CCTV from neighbouring businesses.

Det Insp Mark Button said: “We shall be talking to the two men and piecing together what happened. Officers are at the scene and we are obtaining CCTV from other businesses in that area.

"If anyone witnessed this incident or has information that could assist our investigation we would appeal for them to contact us.”

Witnesses or anyone with information should contact 01227 868116 or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111. Calls to Crimestoppers are free and you do not have to give your name.
