Hundreds of letters and emails have been sent to council bosses by people opposed to the proposed lorry park at Aldington.

Ashford Borough Council has received 123 and Kent County Council, 239.

The county council has received 28 letters and emails calling for a solution to Operation Stack, 14 of which specifically support a lorry park as a solution.

KCC leader Paul Carter, said: “People are always more motivated to write in to object than to support any proposal, so it is significant that 28 people have taken the time to write to me calling for a solution to Operation Stack, many of them supporting a lorry park.”
